FUNCTION OF COMMITTEES
- To carryout detail scrutiny of the bids in the light of the recommendation of the
bids evaluation committee
- To evaluate the quoted rates and prices with reference to the global price trends
and purchase made in the recent past
- To formulate and adopt, when necessary a price negotiating strategy with the bidders,
starting from the lowest bidders, in order to ensure economic procurements and savings
- To finalize purchases with reference to rates, quantities and time frame keeping
in view the urgency of the required item(s).
The purchase and price evaluation committees have the freedom to increase or decrease
the quantities to be procured/ purchased with reference to those given in the tender
document.
