What is TCP ? Answer: TCP is the principle trading organization of the Government of Pakistan. It imports/export /counter trades various products on behalf of the Government, as and when directed and according to the needs of the country.

Who owns TCP? Answer: TCP is a private limited company with the sole ownership and under the administrative control of Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan.

What is the business jurisdiction of TCP? Answer: TCP has the principal office at Karachi and its regional office at Lahore. TCP also has a Liaison office at Islamabad. What type of domestic operations are undertaken by TCP? Answer: TCP purchases and stocks essential commodities like sugar, wheat, urea and cotton etc with the objective of the price stabilization and maintain a balance between demand and supplies. More details at “operating activities”.

How does TCP stock the commodities? Answer: TCP has state of art—stocking facilities at various places in the country. There are 3 godowns at Karachi including the largest godown (QRG) in Asia located at Pipri. The godown spread over approximately on the area of 600 acres. Besides, TCP has another two godowns at Landhi and Korangi, also located in Karachi.
